Sam Cassell blunted an Atlanta comeback Wednesday and boosted the Los Angeles Clippers past the Hawks 95-88.
Atlanta trailed by 21 points early in the fourth quarter, but cut the deficit to three in the final minute.
Cassell then made two free throws with 12 seconds to go to give the Clippers a five-point lead and Quinton Ross added two more from the line with a second left.
Al Thornton scored 33 points to lead the Los Angeles Clippers and he came up with a key block on Acie Law that kept the Los Angeles lead at three before Sam Cassell could get to the line.
Cassell and Tim Thomas both had 14 as the Clippers ended a three-game losing streak. .
