The Orlando Magic play the second of a four-game road trip, as they visit Los Angeles Clippers tonight at the Staples Center.
On Tuesday, John Salmons scored 21 points and drained a key jumper with 49.7 seconds remaining to give the Sacramento Kings breathing room in a 104-100 victory over the Magic at ARCO Arena.
All-Star Dwight Howard finished with 29 points and 15 rebounds, while Rashard Lewis collected 22 points for the Magic, who have dropped three in a row. Hedo Turkoglu scored 14 points and J.J. Redick netted 10 off the bench
The Magic, who are 15-6 on the road this season, will visit the Denver Nuggets on Friday at the Pepsi Center and the Utah Jazz on Saturday at EnergySolutions Arena.
Los Angeles tries to put the brakes on a two-game losing streak, as it plays the fourth of a six-game homestand. Tim Duncan notched a double-double with 17 points and 17 rebounds to lift the San Antonio Spurs to an 88-82 win over the Clippers on Sunday at the Staples Center.
Chris Kaman recorded a double-double with 20 points and 14 rebounds for Los Angeles, which has dropped eight of its last nine games overall. Rookie Al Thornton finished with 17 points and eight rebounds, while Corey Maggette contributed 14 points before fouling out with 1:27 to play in the fourth quarter.
The Clippers are just 5-11 as the host this season. They will battle the Dallas Mavericks on Saturday and the Phoenix Suns on January 15th at the Staples Center.
This is the first of two meetings between the Los Angeles Clippers and Magic this season. Orlando is scheduled to host the Clippers on March 12 at Amway Arena.
Last season, the Clippers and Magic split a pair of contests. Orlando has lost four straight and six of its last seven at the Clippers.
