Corey Antoine Maggette was born on November 12, 1979 in Melrose Park, Illinois, U.S. Corey Maggette is a professional basketball player, playing at small forward for the National Basketball Association's (NBA) team, the Los Angeles Clippers. Corey Maggette was originally selected with the 13th overall pick in the 1999 NBA Draft out of Duke University by the Seattle SuperSonics. Corey Maggette was immediately traded to the Orlando Magic after that.
Off the court, Corey Maggette works with children as a member of the Clippers Reading All-Star Team and also gives back through his work with such organizations as A Place Called Home and the Children's Institute International. Corey Maggette also dedicates the holiday season shopping for toys with children from Camp Ronald McDonald for Good Times and Centinela Hospital. His "Uh Oh Maggette-O Kids" program brings hundreds of kids to Clippers games for free.
